Big Fun

LITTLE NUGGET

It was an exciting weekend in the land of Payton.  He has come a long way in a short amount of time.

He is really doing well siting up, and even sat in the cart at COSTCO like a big kid.  He really seemed to get a kick out of sitting there and taking in all the sights.

We have moved on to carrots now which Payton seems to like and tomorrow it's on to squash.  I gave him a slice of apple on friday to hold and taste.  He enjoyed holding it but I think it was a little sour for him.

He's also getting a lot better at at holding his toes, it seems to be one of his favorite things to do right now.

Tomorrow is school picture day for Payton.  1st school pictures we are so excited!  Can't wait to get him all spiffed up in the morning for his pics.

It's So Easy

BEING GREEN

Yea for Payton, he started on vegetables this week for the first time and is doing really well.  He has had Green Beans and Sweet Peas so far and has liked both, no problems getting him to eat them. AND even better he hasn't had an allergic reaction!

It seems like we have been quite busy this week or maybe it's just me with work!!  But we had a nice visit with Grandpa and Grandma Robbins last weekend and have been keeping busy at home with chores, and lots of playtime.

Payton has a new game he likes to play in the exersaucer, he puts his arms out like a bird and sways back and forth really hard so that he can get it a-rockin'.  Then he gets up on his tip-toes and jumps down on the seat as hard as he can for maximum bounce.  He follows it all up with a sly smile to Mom and Dad to say "did you see me".

Over the hills and thru the woods.....

TO GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE WE GO

Payton and I visited Grandma and Grandpa Osborn this weekend.  We had a lot of fun visiting and playing with them and Uncle Scott too. Payton watched his first NASCAR race, practiced sitting up, rolling over (with help), and got lots of cuddles and kisses from everyone.

We also wanted to go see Grandma and Grandpa Robbins and Payton's cousins in town from Illinois, unfortunately, a blizzard kept us away.  But we will be back very soon for a nice visit.

What a Big Boy

AN AMAZING NEW FEAT

What a big boy Payton is, sitting on his own for the very first time. He lasted a full 60 seconds before he toppled over to the side.  It was a very proud and exciting moment.  We are going to keep working with him to see if her can last longer and longer sitting up on his own.

We are still working on rolling over but with our help he is getting a little better every week and will hopefully be able to do it on his own very soon.

The joke's on you Mom

DON'T COUNT YOUR CHICKENS...

I should know better I suppose than to go around talking about Payton accomplishing something consistently and than making plans around it... silly momma.

There I was Tuesday telling everyone what a big boy my Payton is, and how he sleeps thru the night and into the morning.  And how I was going to start back at the gym bright and early Wednesday morning at 5am since he will sleep right thru till I get back home.

Cut to later that evening 2am, I hear a coo over the monitor, then a giggle, a cough and then full out loud baby babble coming from Payton's room.  By the time I got to him his arms and legs were going like crazy.  And that's when I realized, not only was my sweet baby awake, he was really AWAKE... so a bottle and an hour plus playtime later I went to bed shortly before I had planned to go to the gym.  Oh well better luck next time.

One of the things I have learned being a new mother is to always count on things changing and that you have to be ready and able to go with the flow at all times.  Even at 2am in the morning.

Welcome

HELLO AND WELCOME

My objective for keeping this blog is to keep my friends and family up-to-date on the happenings with my family my new son Payton in particular.

Payton's been growing leaps and bounds it seems.  At 4 months he is already 16 pounds and 26" long. Amazing! Payt has started on cereal, is sleeping thru the night, and is doing something new every week.  right now he is fascinated with his hands, he loves to stare at them, and also with his tongue. He pokes it out as far as it will go like a little lizard.  He has also found his voice and he wants everyone to hear it!
